It has been a while since this marksmen blog being updated. so what is actually happening to the team?? we are not sleeping but basically it's training, training and more training. the other things is to gather more members as most of the members are tight up with their life where not everytime can participate in tourny. so new members recruitment is still on going. ppl come and go but the core team members still available.

This time, the Marksman being tasked to be marshals in helping Team Heatwave in organising a cooperate paintball event. the place was in TTSPORTS. it was on 6 Sep 2008. first 4 games were good, played under cloudy sky. smooth wind blowing into the field making marshalling job ez. after the 4th game, sky turned dark and it started to rain.

so most of the games after that were wet n it was hard to really see all the players. the field was slipery and most of the time all our masks were foggy too. logistic was slow as everyone rushed into the tent making it cramped up. its just oily,wet,stuffy and wet making most of us very hungry! kudos to those marksman that fast that day.

MARKSMAN AND TM TRIPLE PLAY

Its time for Marksman to be in action again! This time is the TM-Triple Play game. Why triple play? This whole event consisted of 3 games which were paintball, futsal and street basketball. It was held outside Sunway Lagoon on 30 until 31 Aug 2008, its inconjunction with merdeka celebration. Turn out for the paintball was average (participation) and crowd…… pathethic. The main reason for this I presume was due to

1. weather - morning shines and afternoon rain.
2. no seats! – even the participants had to sit on the floor like pathetic drug abusers.
3. not well organized – the setup was not grand at all, any secondary school open day will

be better.
4. no big scoreboards (whiteboards or whatever)
5. no one selling food and beverages (time like this, hotdog stand would be great!)

Nevertheless, we won 3rd in this event! Hahahahaha. Got ourselves RM500 (which of course will be the entrance fee for future up coming event again). Overall ranking is as follow :

1st Day

It was an early start for Marksman. All arrived early at the place. We noticed a something like a mocked up of a paintball field, so we thought that it was just a small model where the organizer will let us walk the field. To our dismay.. it IS THE FIELD! So we came out with the idea that TM will play paintball their way, maybe let the players move on their knees only, but no.. u can run and jump as usually one play! Why the event organizer and TM never do their homework???, what the heck, we already registered so just carried on with the game.

Marksman won 2 games and lose 2 games on the 1st day. Anyhow, we managed to crawl into the quarter finals! Well done! In the morning, it was all shiny and good weather where the organizer can easily finish up all the game in the morning but they took a very ‘smart’ break by giving lunch break from 1245 until 1500! (time management?) So, way we go to have our lunch at Wendy’s. The game continued in the afternoon under the rain. For those who r not playing or waiting for their turn to play, all have to sardined inside the 3 tents, thanks to organizer!

2nd Day

Started around 0900. It’s the quarterfinal. Marksman once again succeeded qualifying into the semifinal. It was a fast day and most of the games were hastily executed. Break for lunch again! Now was frm 1100 until 1400!!!! Wat the heck again! We didn’t go to lunch this time but eventually went n watch Abalone AD. After the movie, strolled for a while in the mall then proceeded to the game area.

Prepared ourselves and then played the 3rd n 4th ranking game against Team Raptor (which already beaten us twice before this). Lucky us!!! We won and that’s how we manage to secured No 3 (and RM 500).

Then have to wait until 1600 for the price giving ceremony. Why 1600?? Is there a crowd waiting to cheer for us?? NO! the whole TM Triple Play is not a crowd puller anyway. No one bother to stop n watch!! If like that, better do it inside the mall rite?? Like squash!! Hahahhaha. The paintball field is not on grass or carpet anyway, so if it is done inside the mall, that would be better n can further promote the game too! Ppl can watch frm the upper floor! Anyway, that’s our 2 cent worth.

Overall, we r happy to play in this event (cause managed to get something) eventhough it was not organized up to the normal standard. Advice to TM, DO NOT ENGAGE THIS EVENT ORGANISER AGAIN!!. Now…. Wonder when the other telcos will organize paintball?

Event : 2nd MAKSAK Paintball tourney

we left KL at about 1230.... picked tony and william up from tony's place.... then off we head to melaka..... arrived at about 1400 and we were housed in the MITC hotel... an average hotel with average amenities... the room was rather small...especially when u stuff in 3 fully grown men in it!! hahaha.... anyway, the room served us well la.... it became our bedroom, laundry room, drying room and whatever u can think off....haha... looks like a kongsi.... tony, william and i shared a room.... as soon as we got there.... we went to the field to walk the ground.... since it was our first real tourney, we did alot of research on the field.... from sketching to finding arc of fire... it was a brand new experience.... try to place ourselves in the hunter and prey position... haha...

our smaller than average multipurpose room..... haha....tido, mandi, cuci baju, dry baju, meeting room, ops room, tactic rooms, store room!! all in one.... hehe....

the first match was between us and the prisons department!! well.... we won that match... kill all and manage to grab the flag....the second game was also equally an easy game.... it was against penang.....on the 3rd game, we were somehow 'victimized' by the game marshals!! two of us was pulled out for the 1-for-1 rules....i was the last to be pulled out when i went into the safety zone, i counted and there was already 5 members including me.... the game was already over!! till this moment, we still dont get it why we were so harshly penalized when other teams also commit the same mistakes.....some of the marshals did apologized for their actions but wht else can be done.... we lost the game against terengganu!! damn!! the next game was against much experienced KL players.... they haf at least 3-4 pro players.... mostly haf experience playing in MPL tourney.... their tactics were fast and merciless!! hahaa..... and the last game for the day was against melaka.... well, we had to win this game to proceed to the next round.... and off coz we did.... we got 2nd place in the group table....not bad at all for a total beginner......

day 2 is much more exciting....better games and much more exciting..... our first quarterfinal game was against last years champ, negeri sembilan....the game was full with tension!! haha... at the end of the game, both teams still haf three players....so it was a 1-to-1 duel.... we nominated marksman ic3cool as our player....the two players went in and they only haf one minute to make a kill....otherwise, the most traditional way will be done to pick a winner!! tossing coins!! hahaa... anyway, we all have faith in tony la.... when the game started, all of us was practically not breathing!! haha... tony was seen moving alot and flanked the opponent from the right.... occasionally he was seen having problems with his marker!! the N9 chap was defending all the way and tony was the one moving here and there... it was a right call... the opponent who happens to be a right handed fella was in an awkward position... having to shoot with his right hand given an advantage to our team!! and just seconds before the timeout, tony manage to shoot him right on his head!! well done marksman!! hahaha... we proceed to semi finals!!! wohooo.... hehehe....semifinals was against another much stronger team.... the Selangor!!! they haf 4 MPL players!! haha... the first game was a wait and see game... both teams remained conservative and played a slow game..... after 5 minutes, both teams drew and still haf 5 players remaining.....2nd game went to selangor.... they manage to reorganize and outflanked our team after they manage to take out one of our team members!!! ok...we haf another game to go.... and this time we changed strategy!! we realized that we cant beat them if we remain passive and they are a much better team.... we also realized that we tried our best and we are already in medal position.... so it was now or never!!! we had a long pow-wow before deciding on the suicide mission!! hahaha..... 1 minute after the game haf started, mann was hit and out of the game... we are left with 4 members.... i was just waiting for the que to call from tony!!! once he said GO!! we all stood up got out of our bunkers!!! we all went charging towards the enemy!!! caught everyone by surprised... the marshals, selangor team and the spectators.... i can hear loud cheer as we were advancing!!! hahaha... one marshal was down... victim of cross fire!! haha... we was later taken out by stretcher and given treatment!! i was shot 3 times on the head and my mouth was filled with paints!!! hahaha.... that was the most exciting suicide mission!!! hahaha... when we got out of the field... everyone cheered... eventhough we lost the game... but we game a good fite... the last match gave the biggest impact!! hahaha.... and the armed forces team became the star of the day after the match!!! hahaha...

overall, the game was a good exposure for us.... an eye opener and this is our first real paintball tournament!! the organizing part is so-so la... u cant expect much from the civvies... bad and his mudtrekker teams are there to organize....but the markers were big time let down!!! few occasions where the markers ran out of CO2.... and there were also cases of jammed markers!!!
this shouldn't happen in a tourney!!! and during the closing ceremony, the MAKSAK representative announced that the Armed Forces will most probably host next years event!

i was kinda bored...and thought that i need to complete my DIY mask fan project... hehe... at first i didn't thought that i would need a fan in my mask.... but after having gone thru several woodsball games, i find it essential to haf those fans to overcome fogging in the mask.....
now, what these are what u need to complete the project......

2 IC fans, soldering iron, switch, some black tape, 9v bty holder, and some cables....

how do u do it??? first get hold of ur mask..... identify where u intend to put the fan.... run thru the cables to see if it fits.... take the measurement and proceed to the next step.....

then u need to join the two fans together... connect it to the switch and battery holder..... solder all the joints and use black tapes to wrap some exposed wires....

walla!! the fan is done..... haha... and now my mask is fog free..... CHEERS!! hahah....

9th - Training of Marksman - Ready, Steady, Go!

That is the 1st training session for Marksman under the supervision of William. He's one ironclawed coach for this matter. The training started at around 11am and minor rain was complementing the training. Altogether, there were 7 of Marksman attended this dreadful training. 10 boxes of pallets were purchased and the session begin.

Orientation to the field and introduction of all the types of obstacles in the field, each got their specific callsigns. in the speedball setting, according to wil, basically the game only will last for more or less, 5mins. time for sniper? i guess not. its all about speed, accuracy, dexterity, strategy and communications.

The training ended at around 1530 and everyone were exhausted and tired. that was the 1st training, more will come in the future to sharpen the team's skill and add ups experience in playing speedball.

8th Battle of Marksman - Tanamera - 14 June 2008

Loon and Icecool participated in this game. its a friendly event between YoungLawyers (YLs) and YoungEngineers (YEs). it turned out that, less than 10 YEs showed up for the game and a number of YLs pulled out in the last min. so the total of 'supposed to be' main event of that day only add up to less than 20 pax. as for us, we played for the IEM. other teams had to be absorbed to beef up the numbers and spice up the game. basically, playing for the YEs were marksman, heatwave, wormbats and few others as long as they have engineering backgnd. for the rest, they will go to the YLs. half way to the game, the offshore gungho also joined in the fight alongside YEs n headed by snafu.

overall it's a nice game, everyone gets to kill someone and those speedballers did enjoy the recball game to a certain extend. sorry, no photos for this session as we still don't have a compact camera that are cheap enough to be brought into the battlefield. mocha still in KK massaging his aching foot i guess.

Tournament formats

Tournaments may be played with teams of various sizes, although the most common modern-day formats are 3-man, 5-man and 7-man. 20-man and 15-man tournaments were common on wooded fields in the 1980s, and professional paintball teams played 10-man for most of the 90's and into the new millennium, but today tournament paintball is dominated by 5- and 7-man formats. In most tournament formats, teams play a set of games against various opponents. Teams earn points for each game, with the most points awarded for capturing and hanging the flag, but some also awarded for opponents eliminated and teammates left alive at the end of the game.

* Capture the Flag - The original tournament format, woodsball tournaments of any size are commonly capture the flag format, as well as most 10-man and 7-man speedball tournaments, but may also be used with other team sizes. The game starts with a flag at each team's starting station, and the team to capture their opponent's flag and return it to their starting station wins. The National Professional Paintball League plays a 7-man capture the flag format, which was used in the NPPL US Paintball Championship (NPPL Commander's Cup 2005 in Miami) broadcast on ESPN2 in the spring of 2006. 7-man capture the flag is also played by regional tournament series like the Xtreme Paintball Sports League and the New England Paintball League.

* Centerflag - The two flags of capture the flag are replaced by one flag located at the center of the field. The first team to take this flag to the opposing team's starting station wins the game. 3-man, 5-man and some 7-man competitions primarily use the centerflag format. Paintball Sports Promotions, a national circuit, offers 5-man centerflag divisions in addition to XBall.

* XBall - A newer format first played at the International Amateur Open in 2002, XBall pits two teams against each other in multiple rounds of Center Flag played one after another until game time runs out. A team scores one point for each game of centerflag they win, and the team with the most points at the end of the match wins. Professional XBall matches are 50 minutes long, split into two halves, while non-professional matches use various shorter game times. Although only 5 players per team play in any given game, depending on league rules, teams may roster up to 19 players and substitute them after each point. Unlike most tournament formats that forbid players to communicate with people on the sidelines, XBall teams have a coach who can communicate, along with the spectators, with players on the field. Players who receive penalties are not permanently removed from the game, but placed in a hockey-like penalty box for several minutes. The National XBall League, a professional circuit associated with Paintball Sports Promotions, plays the XBall format, which was also used for the Smart Parts World Paintball Championships broadcast on ESPN2 in the fall of 2006.

* XBall Light - Like XBall, but only has one period, typically 15 minutes long. The first team to reach a set point total (commonly 5 or 7 points), or the team with the highest point total after game time has elapsed, wins the match. XBall Light is offered by Paintball Sports Promotions as well as regional series like the Carolina Field Owners Association.

Additional variations

* Foxes & Hounds - Players are divided between a small group, called the "foxes" and a much larger group, called the "hounds." The foxes enter the field of play first and are given a limited amount of time to conceal themselves. After this preparation time has elapsed, the hounds enter the field of play. If, after a predetermined amount of time has elapsed, the hounds are able to eliminate all foxes, the hounds are considered the winners. If one or more foxes have not been eliminated, the foxes are considered the winners. Alternately, once all of the foxes are eliminated, the hounds try to eliminate each other, with the last hound in the game being the winner.

* Paratrooper - Players are given a token (such as a colored arm-band) and paired off. Each pair constitutes a team. Teams enter the field of play sequentially, each team being given a couple of minutes to take a position in the field. Once all teams have entered the field play begins. Any time a player is eliminated he must give his token to the team that eliminated him. At the end of a predetermined period of time, the team with the largest collection of tokens is declared the winner.

* Street Fighter - A regular Elimination game played in an interior field, with the exception that players are not allowed to enter bunkers, castles, or any other "hole" in the field. Usually played in teams, this variation often forces opposing teams into choke points.

* Protect the President - two teams, One Being the President and His Guards, and the other team the terrorists. While the Guards are permitted to carry one or two weapons (depending on the Referee's choice), the President is unarmed. The terrorists job is to try to shoot the president. The guards can be shot as many times as possible and not be eliminated, but if the president is shot once, the game is over. the Objective is to get the president from one location to another (crossing the field possibly if it is in a commercial arena).

* Hostage - Similar to CTF except the "flags" are actual human beings. One team defends the hostages for a set amount of time or until the other team is eliminated, while the other team attempts to rescue the hostages. The hostages will only move when nearby or in direct contact with one of the attacking players and are not allowed to use any equipment aside from the required goggles.

* Civil War — This is a rule variant that can be added to any of the above game variants. Participants forgo a traditional hopper-style ammunition container and load each of their shots manually. Depending on the size of the teams, a certain amount of players may have an 8-round magazine to simulate a repeating rifle and one person per team may have a full hopper in order to simulate a Gatling Gun. The start of a Civil War game, like its namesake, usually begins with both teams opposing each other across an open field where each team will fire an opening salvo and then fire at will from skirmish positions.

* D-Day - Played at specified fields because of required terrain. The field is a steep hill. Usually has man made bunkers, as opposed to the more commonly used inflatables. One team starts at the top of the hill and another at the bottom. The objective is for the team starting at the bottom of the hill to make it to the top. D-Day refers to the Allied effort to liberate mainland Europe from Nazi occupation during World War II, which was mainly composed of amphibious landings performed on the coast of Normandy (thus the uphill fighting and bunkers).

* Castle - This is played with two teams with different numbers of people. The smaller group (defenders) is put in a Castle or series of trenches or bunkers to make a solid defense. Then the larger group (attackers) tries to eliminate everyone in the castle. The castle is usually placed in the woods. This game is played with a time limit of usually 15-30 minutes. If the time runs out the defenders win. If the attackers eliminate all of the defenders before the time runs out they win. If the attackers are eliminated the defenders win. In some formats there is a regeneration for the attackers but not the defenders.

* Zombie - A team game where a single person starts on one team (Zombie) and a number of players is on the other (Humans). A zombie cannot be eliminated by anything but a head shot. Everyone the Zombie eliminates become Zombies themselves (switches teams). The game ends when either team is completely eliminated.

* The Lemming Game - A two-sided flag is placed in the center of the field, visible to everyone. The object of the game is for two teams to fight over which team's color is up on the flag. A time limit such as 20-30 minutes and re-insertion are used so that the flag gets switched back and forth. The team with their flag up at the end of the game wins.

* Black Hawk Down - A three-sided game variant, Black Hawk Down is based on the movie with the same name. In this variant, One small team (varies with the game size, but 4-8 members in a total of 30-40 players), Often called the "Spec. Ops." or "Special Forces" team, must rescue a team of 4, called the "Pilots". The rules on the pilots vary, but it is often agreed that the pilots can be fully armed, but may only reload their hopper once. The remaining players form a team called the "Rebels" or the "Insurgents". The Pilots start the game in a solid, centrally located bunker with two flags, usually pinned to the outside of the bunker. The Rebels And the Special Forces start at opposite ends of the field, equidistant from the Pilot's bunker (The "Black Hawk"). The goal for the Rebels is to "Capture" at least two of the pilots by capturing the flags on the Black Hawk. The Pilots goal is to be Rescued by the Special Forces team, not the Rebels. The Special Forces must rescue 2 or more of the Pilots from the Black Hawk, much in the same way as the Rebels must capture them. However, if more than two pilots are eliminated (by either team shooting them), or if the Special Forces rescue 2 of the pilots (By capturing the flags), The Rebels immediately lose, and the Special Forces are declared the winners. If a player "Bunker taps" the Black Hawk (eliminating all 4 players inside), then Both teams have lost, and the game is replayed from the beginning. The game is usually played with a time limit of 15-25 minutes.

* Control Points - An odd number of Territories, or Control Points, on the field are designated. Each team begins with one control point (usually spaced so all other control points are in between the two starting points) and must try to capture the remaining control points. Control points are captured when all the players guarding it (if any) are shot, or the players guarding fall back. It can be played with a time limit (the players who have the most control points at the end of the time limit win), or it can be played with untimed elimination. The two inherent variants of elimination for this game are the standard "One Shot, One Kill" elimination, or it can be played so when you get hit you fall back to the last bunker you captured. When you get shot and you only have one bunker left, you're out for the remainder of the game.

* Medic - Each team is divided evenly, and each team has two medics. The two teams go into a non-timed elimination game. But when hit, the medic can bring you back. A person can only be brought back twice. On the third hit, they go to the "dead box". A medic can bring back another medic, but the revived medic is just a normal player.

* "Mutants" - A type of team elimination where there are two teams- mutants and humans. When a human player is out, they switch teams and become a mutant. The mutant team tries to eliminate all human players. Eliminated Mutants only sit out for a certain amount of time, usually ten minutes. The game ends when all human players are out.

* "Patrol": participants split into a patrol team and attacker team, this is usually set up on a road or trail, the patrol team must make it to a certain point with a certain number of patrol team members left, the attacking team is out trying to eliminate them usually hiding along the path. The attackers start at a point, usually at the end, and the patrol at the start.

* "Predator": This variation is very similar to mutants only the game starts with 2 predators and 6 humans. if a human gets shot by a predator, they become a predator. the only hit that counts on a predator is a hit to the head. This will turn the predator into a human. the game ends if all predators become human or all humans become predators.

* "Vitals" - A Paintball contest variation where only hits to the chest, back or head count as eliminations. Hits to the legs, arms or shoulders do not count.

* "Drop the Bomb" - Teams are split equally into 2 teams, one team is given a "bomb" which must be dropped at a specific location. The other team have to attempt to stop this from happening by shooting the bomb carrier. This game is usually played where there is one main zone feature (i.e. a castle) where the bomb must be dropped. If the player carrying the bomb is shot they must drop the bomb for another team mate to pick up. Sometimes the defenders cannot leave their base/zone until after two minutes depending on the referees choice. This game is played with a time limit of usually 10-15 minutes. If the time runs out the defenders win.

* "Boss" - A player, usually the most skilled in the group, puts on a large coat or jacket on backwards and faces off against an enemy team of four or more. The "boss" can eliminate players by simply marking them with paint, however the opposing team can only eliminate the "boss" by getting paint on his uncovered back. Whoever eliminates the "boss" will become the "boss" the next round.

* "Superman" - An all agent one game, one player is invulnerable while everyone else is eliminated with one hit. The game is over when the superman either surrenders from the pain or gets everybody else out. The superman is also not allowed to take any sort of cover or sprawl out.

* "Sorry" - This game starts by two players who facing off in an area usually clear of cover. Then they both exchange a friend/spouse to the other player. The "hostages" are then used as riot shields. This causes both payers to take very accurate shots as to eliminate the enemy player without hitting the hostage. Occasionally this may turn into a battle of threats and bluffs by repeadedly saying that one will eliminate their own sheild/hostage. To play this game one should have high accuracy or psycological understanding.

MAIDEN BATTLE AS TEAM MARKSMAN

Team Marksman has its maiden battle in Mudtrekker on 8th June 2008. For this time, only 4 member of the team is involved : Mocha, Icecool, Loon and Mie. this battle is codenamed WORLD IN CONFLICT (WIC). The description of WIC is as follow:

'World in Conflict is our 5th Scenario Paintball installment by recballers for recballers. The objective of our Scenario Paintball Games (SPG) is not about winning, but about gathering, educating, cultivating and stimulating the prestige of recreational paintball. The scenario's will be a combination of input's from recball team leaders and our own.

Registration : RM40 per personincludes:marker, gas, facemask, field and certified NPPL MPRO marshalls.

Buffet LunchLucky Draw
Additional pellets : RM230 per box of 2000 rounds.
Limit : Limit to 100 players only.

Mission Brief:

1. Urban Jungle Combat- Three teams, 1 nuclear rocket, 2 C-4 demolition pacakge, 1 result.

2. Hold the Line - Two teams, the defender of the hill has a ratio of 1:2. The defender is stationed five min before game starts. 50% of the attacker's team are inserted frm the start of the game and the balance 3 players every 20 seconds(Also known as heli-drop) from 3 drop points.

3. Operation Doomsday - two teams, respawn area(in enemy territory) and crates of Dynamite(TNT).

Mudtrekker SNIPER trophy challenge - Requirements
1)Barrels must be at least 18inch and above
2)No limit on fps
3)Round robin challenge
4)Apex and flatline and or other similar contraption can be used.'

It all started with an early sunday morning.. and it's raining!!! cold and cozzy. all of us had to pulled ourselves up to be in WIC. we all had a light breakfast and off we go to GZ. Mie and mocha drove themselves there despite the price hike of petrol while loon and icecool decided to car pool. all of us arrived at GZ around 0900. we all gathered in a wet n small hut where u need to walk via the toilet in order to reach it (since this is the 1st time we played in mudtrekker and there's no signages to show where to go although they are organizing a game for 100 pax). geared up and Marksman will be playing for with Team TDP this time as we do not have enough members to form our own 'regiment' in WIC.

The game started at around 1045 with briefing by a guy named Badak. the rules of the game keep changing every 5 mins thus making most of the players were confused frm start till the end. many times wasted in roll calling and waiting while the organizer thinking of what to talk or trying to setup the rules while ppl are roll calling. i always think that a game should be organized in a way that the rules had been made up way before promoting for ppl to join. not when every1 had paid and then only decided to change the rules insitu. nvm, there's still rooms for improvements since it's only the 5th recball games by mudtrekker rite? give them chance, msia just 50 yrs old mah...

'I don't like the rules... change it.. i paid for it.... i don't care!!'... maybe those were some of the complaints that some of the paid players told the game master. perhaps those guys pay more? we all pay less and read the rules 1st.

ntg much we can do since mudtrekker not my grandfather one, so took time to pose for picture.

The game started at around 1115 and it took around 31 mins to finish where basically all of the defenders of the hills got slaughtered! that includes Marksman...RIP but at least we were the last man standing. then 2nd game started at 1230 (after roll calling n ruling up n down). took around 45 mins to finish. we had our lunch at a lower hut where u need to walked pass the toilet to go n eat and walked back again to gear up where during the journey back, with a full stomach, most of us noticed some of the toilet bowls were also 'full' in it mouth thus making our journey back to our hut a very aromatic one. nvm, give chance.... 50 yrs only... remember? hahahahaha. we had our last game 90mins after the dinner. finished up the last game around 1600 and it's the sniper novelty time.

overall its a nice game and we all believe that things can be furtermore improved with firmer rules and rigid game master. as for of us, we did prize frm WIC! congrats!

GEARS UPDATE FOR MAIDEN BATTLE AS A TEAM

7th June 2008 will be the 1st battle of Marksman as a team. this maiden battle will be fought by 3 of the team members - trigun of Marksman (mocha,icecool and BZ). the triguns got themselves a set of new gear today which is all the critical joints guards for their body, wrists, elbows and knees.

very sturdy and comfortable to wear.

Imported products and it cost our sponsor RM 39 billion (almost the same as the fuel subsidy)

next vital items for the team will be comms, compact camera and uniform.... so...... any sponsors out there?

6th Paintball Battle - 31 May 2008 - Tanamera

In this battle, only mocha and BZ were involved. it's basically just a routine training and game. both of them used up 500 pallets and were practicing snipering concepts. Ice went for his advanced training at TT sports and now he's the most fearsome members in this team (speed, agility, dexterity, strength, fatality, etc)

5th Paintball Battle (OPS BAMBOO RIVER 1) - 18 May 2008 - Tanamera

This operation was carried out in order to harrass our enemy at all their vital grounds. its basically a covert op with minimum number of personels and limited weapon capabilities. this small group was lead by Maj Icecool and consisted of 8 elite members frm the Thundering Bamboo Squad and 2 other fly-in scientists with no battle experience but they did carry weapons. Preparations had been made since H-6 where logistic unit back at home base busying preparing rations and troops had their final check on equipments plus transport mov to the RV point, way front.

The ops started at 11am with 2 assaults onto enemy 1st vital ground. the 1st and 2nd battle took place in a virgin jungle with lots of cover where good communications and coordinations are the key point of success. the battle took around 1 hr to finish. both side suffered heavy casualties and basically it's a draw! we went back to our front base to reorg n refurbish our ammo. 3rd n 4th battle took place on an open area where we fought the same group of enemy again. they had retreated to a new location where it's their 2nd vital ground that they must hold to ensure their success in this whole campaign. we fought well and many of the enemies dropped like flies. flanking assault proved to be effective and so did the sniper team that are deadly and headshot all the enemies.

The 3nd n 4th battle also ended up with a draw. its a tough fight for both sides and the enemy been forced to withdrew again ... into a new defensive posn which is at a hill in the ops area. we call it ramleeburger hill. went back to front base n reorg again. frm our intel, we got to know that the enemy had also reorg their personals and structure to suit this new ground. so for us, we broken down the sniper team where we sent our sniper to infiltrate the enemy. one of the team sniper guy became a spy for us. Thumb up for trooper Mocha for his courage! we managed to kill all the enemy in this location that involved 2 main battles in it. mocha sacrificed himself for our victory (he got killed by us during the crossfire). we manage to take his remaining back and clone all those parts that are needed to revive him back. he's now 100% his ownself again. purple heart for him!

Ops Bamboo River 1 is a big success for us. this is our 1st major ops together and most of us speak in the same frequency and we were able to bring down the enemy which are much stronger than us in term of combat experience and equipments. but one thing for sure, we do have better ration (thanks to the battle chef back at firm base, keep up the good work!) and its more relaxing and fun to play alongside with all the ppl that u know. our next bamboo ops will most probably a mechanise battle which Maj Icecool had written to the top ppl to supply us with our assault vehicles (4 in 1 vehicle). our assault vehicle will look something like this.....

4th Paintball Battle - 3 May 2008 - Tanamera

Its another weekend where we all kill each other again. this is basically what soldiers do when they got no war.. killing each other! me, mocha, icecool and maj K went to tanamera again to test our physical endurance and mental strategies. sometime the mind can do wonder but ur physical limits that. beside us, there were the resident evil players who already station their evil seeds all around the battlefield with new zombies to join in the fight too!

Me and Mocha before the war.. its a very hot day with a sudden rain in the middle.. making the humidity very high and the air that contaminated with germs which fogged our tactical vision. This is basically a view frm my mask.

The right leg is mine while i m carrying my squad's leg. he got bitten off by the resident evils. kinda clean boots he had..... pity

Overall, it was a very nice game that day. i managed to kill alot of new zombies n i think every1 of us did our own kills too! muddy but still nice to play. its really dirty after the battle. my wife drove me back as i m too hungry to drive n too thirsty to think too. anyway, after my nice dinner, ideas came flowing into my greycell.. yes.. flowing in... and i had come out with my very own porches for my pods and CO2 tank in my next battle! can't wait to test it! theoritically it has a phase shift armor capability which can nudge the pallets away frm ur body, making the wearer immortal! cool yeah.... made frm local material...

ookAnother round of paintball - this time - the famous & much huh-hah Tanamera. We missed it the first time round. Tanamera is actually a very big plantation area - rubber & oil palm. And one genius one day say "Hey, why not I make use of the huge land to have paintball here too!" Here you go...

The area is huge - the owner stays there - with his horses & big big dogs! Ultimate lifestyle. Walk everywhere also got 3 dogs follow. Not the beh chia lo dogs ok. It's BIG & intimidating.

Tanamera actually provides quite a number of scenarios - Vietcong Village, Jungle Warfare, Lake Placid, Killing Fields, Slaughter House... They even adapted a game from the movie, Tears of the Sun - if you've watched it, Bruce Willis heading a group of Navy Seals escaping from the barbaric Nigerian militias. Well, our Navy Seals below...

I tot they have hostages right? And no... the girls there are not hostages - they're supposed to be the Navy Seals - I know some guys are saying something already. They're 10 Navy Seals - and I-don't-know how many Nigerians Militia below... "Suicide Mission?"

This Tears of the Sun showed all the Navy Seals kena slaughtered at the Slaughter House - despite succeeding to inflict many casualties on the militias.

Yes, I guess it's paintball season. I heard they're going for another round next Tuesday again... which unless Plaza OSK collapse, I can't go. Gosh I wonder how much these people (paintball operators) make. I guess they must've gotten back their capital by now. It was last Sunday, Loon's second and my first. It was great!

I've been to Isi Rimba & personally prefered Dusun Ali King, much cleaner & less messy, and no leeches... coz' it wasn't raining the day before :) Of course if you want the jungle "feel", you'd prefer Isi Rimba.

Our team - was it barrel bengkok? I felt safe amongst the armed forces (current & ex).

Scary team coz' their markers are more canggih than others, they bought their own markers. I don't know whether if kena shoot by their markers really much more painful than the ordinary Dusun Ali's marker or not but the psychological warfare started when they show off their gruesome markers around before the game. Scary le!

Yeah... another one for you guys folks at home & abroad. Ming invited us for paintball with his diver friends and I was really excited for the very fact that I heard about the fuss on paintball but never got my hands on it. Monday - tried Loon's loreng (army jungle uniform), Tuesday - learn some tactics from Loon to mengelak from bullets, Wednesday - came back from office high fever. Loon said I better don't go since I'm still sick... well... it's good that I went anyway... although I didn't get to play... I got to sweat (good for fever), shoot pics for the blog and meet some really nice people. Ate breakfast with Ming & Ai Chin (long time no see) at 8.15am then head up straight to the destination (deep inside zoo negara - didn't even know the place existed before this - quite ignorant for somebody who stays really nearby).

Highlight of the day ... best costume. Almost everyone wore loreng and there were practically 4 Yuen Yoon Mings around.

Actually the action was only a mere 5-7 minutes. I was pretty suprised how fast it ended. I told Ming most time were spent on players climbing hills and trees and going down slops than even shooting.
